Alyssa + Abraham | Enagagement

Main blog photo

North Orange County

We had to rescheduled Alyssa and Abraham’s engagement session three times due to the uncommonly rainy weather. We were grateful when we finally got a sunny day and were able to meet the happy couple in person. The pair met at our house in Los Alamitos, so Alyssa could get her makeup done by a professional makeup artist we love recommending. It’s never a requirement to get your makeup done for an engagement session, but it’s a great excuse to get pampered.

For most engagement sessions we encourage one location so we can get the most time with our couples, in turn maximizing the number of photos they receive. However, Alyssa and Abraham were torn on an urban backdrop, versus park backdrop. The couple was very open to suggestions and ready to go with the flow. We decided to change our plans for the original shoot location and instead stay local where we know the area well and could move quickly to get more locations in the session. This engagement may go down in our books in regards to the different locations we ended up getting to.

We hopped in one car and made our way through Los Alamitos and Seal Beach. We started behind a restaurant/business center so we could get their urban look complete with red brick walls, and an industrial looking stairwell. Next we made our way to Gum Grove Park.   Gum Grove Park is one of our favorite family photo locations. It is easily accessible, provides shade and a pretty forest like backdrop. It’s also sans playground which can easily derail a photo session for young kids eager to get to the swings.

When we pulled up to Gum Grove Park we could not believe what we were seeing. This typically dryer location more common with fall colors, was brimming with greenery! As most Californian’s would probably agree we are tiered of the rain, but on the upside it has caused some of the driest locations to become lush and blooming with flowers!

Finally, we made it to our last location—an impromptu addition—Seal Beach!  Adielle was a trooper staying positive and happy with the cool ocean breeze chilling us all.

We had a great time spending time with the couple, driving all over Los Alamitos and Seal Beach; hearing about their love story meeting on facebook; and learning about their interesting careers. We are so happy they found one another and look forward to their wedding at Reptacular Ranch!

Enjoy checking out photos from engagement session adventure!
