We had such a great time getting to know Candice and Kyle as a couple when we met them during their engagement session. Danielle worked with Candice years ago as an acting teacher and knows her friendly, boisterous personality. Kyle on the other hand is a man of few words, so the pair balance each other out well! Candice and Kyle’s wedding felt like the first of the many holiday parties to come that week. We were joined by Jamie from All Because He Ask Wedding Videography, and Candice’s coordinator Jessica Matney, a friend and old colleague of both Candice and Danielle’s who moved to New York. Jamie is easy to work with and we love seeing his highlight video which always makes us smile and tear up. DTL Weddings and Events did an amazing job coordinating. Jessica was always there making sure the evening went smoothly and keeping photo and video updated with what event came next.
Candice and Kyle married only a few days before Christmas. The holidays played a key factor in their color scheme and the wedding day vibe. Candice has an artistic eye and did a fantastic job combining winter and fall colors in her theme. The wedding party wore deep greens, shades of rust, and dark aqua, in fabrics with different textures; they carried bouquets adorned with pine cones and pine leaves. Candice looked gorgeous in her beaded dress with her sparkling, gold and blue Heidi Gibson engagement ring, which compliments her style.
The couple got ready and did their first looks at the world’s most storied grand hotels, The Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. We recognized it quickly from one of our favorite movies, Ghostbusters! The hotel was built to resemble a grand European palace with marble, tapestries, gold and bronze. The ritzy and sophisticated atmosphere set the tone for their luxurious wedding.
Their unique wedding venue, the Carondelet House accentuated the holiday spirit. The 1920’s brick building provides vintage textures with urban flair. Once the home to a prominent architect the venue was inviting and comfortable. Following the ceremony and cocktail hour the couple made their grand entrance with guests surrounding them on the dance floor. They went straight into the first dance and had everyone cheering. Following their first dance guests were ushered into the banquet room where they sat at long farm tables surrounded by candles and crystal chandeliers hanging above.
The toasts had everyone laughing, and in case it wasn’t cheery enough, Santa Clause himself made a surprise appearance! He brought well wishes for the newlyweds and some gifts for the little ones. This was one off the highlights to us; if we didn't know any better we would say this Santa was the real deal!
After dinner, guests danced the night away to live music and feasted on delightful mini bundt cakes from Sweet Valentine Bakery. This was a perfect substitution to the traditional cake and a brilliant way to save money! We admit after the bride and groom’s flawless sparker exit, sis and I enjoyed the few desert left overs, and had to pry ourselves away to pack up.
We are so happy Candice and Kyle found each other. Their personalities compliment one another, and they bring out the best in each other. We wish them a lifetime of adventures!
