This was an exciting wedding for us! It was our first Buddhist Ceremony; plus, we had been looking forward to photographing Cathy and Antoine’s wedding since meeting them at their Engagement Session in November of last year. They are friendly, funny, and a perfect match.

Antoine and Cathy live in Washington, but chose to marry at Huế Quang Buddhist Temple in Santa Ana where Cathy grew up, and where her grandmother was a Buddhist nun! Cathy was colorful, regal and glowing for the ceremony. She wore a formal Vietnamese Áo dài with long sleeves in vibrant red (a long, split tunic worn over trousers). Both Cathy and Antoine wore a headpiece called a khăn vấn. The pair were flanked by their large wedding party also wearing Áo dài. The ceremony was full of traditions and we admit a lot of words we didn't understand, but it was beautiful even with the language barrier. The part that had everyone smiling, especially the bride and the groom was when Antoine got to say I do, or a resounding and enthusiastic, “YES!”.

Following the ceremony we headed to San Juan Capistrano for an outfit change, portraits and the party! Cathy changed into a traditional white, lace wedding dress and Antoine into a Taupe Suit and bow tie. The wedding party got ready at the In at The Mission San Juan Capistrano, a gorgeous hotel adjacent to the historic San Juan Capistrano Mission. The Mission which was founded more than 200 years ago and is the birthplace of Orange County provides a stunning backdrop for photos. We we were grateful to have the chance to photograph Cathy and Antoine there. Thanks to all the people who helped make that happen!

Located walking distance from the Mission we made our way to the reception at Serra Plaza, a romantic, Spanish Style courtyard with a bubbling fountain adorned with flowers. Cathy and Antoine were ready to have some fun and celebrate all their hard work putting together the perfect wedding day. They made their grand entrance, and went into their first dance. They were so cute together laughing all night long. When the wedding hit the dance floor things really kicked up. Antoine cut loose and killed it in  game of limbo. Cathy changed into her party dress and they both danced the night away! We had so much fun roaming the dance floor, capturing the party atmosphere along side our partner and Danielle's husband Jamie, All Because He Asked Wedding Videography.
