We ended the year with a very special wedding, one that we were so excited to be a part of! Jaime and Drew are down to earth and very well paired. They make each other smile and we can tell their relationship is full of laughter! Jaime is the sister to Danielle’s old boss back when she was a Bartender. When Jaime reached out to us, we were excited! Danielle had a little nostalgia and couldn’t wait to be part of the wedding for such a wonderful family.
The wedding took place in the beautiful Solvang, CA. If you’re unfamiliar with Solvang like we were, it’s an adorable Danish village in the Santa Ynez Valley. What a great weekend get-away. My husband and I are already planning a trip for when the excitement of the holidays settles.
Danielle and I drove up to Solvang bright and early on the wedding day, so we could check out the town and take a breather after the long drive. We also got to meet up with Jamie’s brother for a quick tour of locations for the day. The bride got ready at her parents vacation home. All her bridesmaids helped Jaime get ready. Even her dad had a job which he did with enthusiasm. We laughed when we arrived to find her dad happily sitting on the street corner acting as guardsman--no one shall enter to see the bride and ruin the surprise on his watch! And that included him!
The groomsmen prepared in what would later that night be Jaime and Drew’s wedding suite at the stylish boutique hotel The Landsby Inn.
Jaime and Drew saw each other on their wedding day for the first time at the romantic Lincourt Vineyard. Their first look was one of the best this year. It was emotional, personal and so sweet! The stars aligned perfectly when these two met.
Danielle and I got to see a lot of beautiful ceremonies this year; Jamie and Drew’s did not disappoint! The Lincourt Vineyard is a beautiful ceremony location, with seating overlooking the vineyard behind the couple.
Their wedding was officiated by their pastor who flew in with the rest of the guests from Colorado. It’s always so nice when couples have someone to officiate that knows them well. We always find it makes the ceremony more meaningful and touching.
One of our favorite moments during the ceremony was when he had all the family and the wedding party join in a big group hug. We’ve never seen that before and we loved it!
After the ceremony, guests shuttled back to the village to K-Syrah Farm to Table Catering and Events. Here the champagne was poured and the party really kicked up!
This group was all about dancing and having a good time together. There was lots of singing and spinning.
Even we got into the action when a guest swooped Danielle from the sidelines onto the dance floor! Guess it was time for a camera break, but not to worry I got the shot!
Another highlight during the evening was when Drew and one of his groomsmen serenaded Jamie on the dance floor. They had everyone smiling, though the biggest grin was from Jaime herself!
Jaime and Drew live in Colorado and love to show their support! Drew has a proud group of friends who all went to Colorado State University, so in addition to their traditional wedding cake they also had a special CSU cake.
Jaime and Drew were such a pleasure to be around. They were gracious and treated us like guests. We had such an amazing time photographing them and getting to know their family and friends! We look forward to hearing about their wonderful life together and we wish them a world of happiness. We wish you two a very Merry first Christmas as Husband and Wife! xoxo
