One of the last weddings we shot this year was Mary Grace and Andy. They were such a chill couple whose main goal for their wedding day was to have a good time with their guests and enjoy the party they worked so hard to plan. It’s so easy to get stressed planning a wedding, so being able to let go and just go with it on the actual day is so important!
Mary Grace’s mom called her a very kick back bride and daughter. Her bridesmaids were told to pick out whatever dress they liked and choose their own colors; she just wanted them to feel good. Bridesmaids included Mary Grace’s sister and Andy’s two sisters. Before getting dressed Mary Grace finally got to enjoy one of her favorite meals (which she had given up for a few months before her wedding)–Honey Bunches of Oats with a spoonful of peanut butter. This is her and her sisters special recipe and their idea of cooking. Apparently this was a college staple!
We loved seeing Mary Grace and her mom together; they have such a beautiful loving relationship. This is the way moms and daughters should always be in a perfect world!
Followed by his groomsmen and huge entourage of friends, Andy led the traditional Chinese walk to his bride’s home (or Airbnb in this case). There he waited patiently for her to make her appearance for first look.
When Andy saw Mary Grace for the first time he lit up! It was an emotional and joyous moment. Mary Grace and Andy really are the perfect pair. They are both Dentists and they are all smiles together.
The ceremony and reception was held at Andy’s family’s private home, a large beautiful property in Corona. The ceremony was on the lawn while the tennis courts housed the reception. We love house weddings, so much work goes into them but they are always so much fun! The wedding planner I-Jou from Sunny California Weddings did an amazing job putting everything together and keeping everyone on the same page with such a large wedding. The event ran super smoothly!
The ceremony was beautiful and sentimental. Mary Grace fought tears with her huge smile and you could just feel the warmth between her and Andy.
After they said their “I dos” they ascended up a grand staircase, and waved at their friends and family at which time we were able to capture a huge group photo!
Who needs cake when you have donuts! Guests helped themselves to a donut bar complete with sprinkles and all kinds of yummy syrups from Gourmet Mini Donuts. What a great idea in lieu of the traditional cake.
After dinner, the party really got started! The DJ brought everyone to the dance floor and it stayed packed until the end! We had so much fun weaving in and out of guests taking dance photos. Everyone was so happy and having such a good time!
Of course all that dancing calls for a late night snack, and what better choice than the In-N-Out! Andy is such a huge fan of In-N-Out that its his first stop on touch down to California from their home in Chicago.
After leaving Mary Grace and Andy shared with us a quick cell phone video showing us how the rest of the night went, and let’s just say this group knows how to fun! We got to see Mary Grace jump into the pool with her wedding dress on to join the rest of the remaining guests for a swim! Wish we could have been there to capture that!
Thanks for having us shoot your wedding Mary Grace and Andy! We had a blast and loved seeing you two together. We wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!
