What a breathtaking wedding with such an amazing group of fun loving people! Getting to photograph weddings outside of our home state of California is always a privilege. Connecticut has been one of the most beautiful wedding locations we’ve been to in the past, so Jamie and I were thrilled to return for Megan and Cliff’s big day! Megan is Jamie’s first cousin once removed, so they took us in, and made us feel welcome. This enormous family is truly amazing, and we loved seeing them all again on such a joyous occasion.

The happy couple met while Megan was bartending at The Dog Watch Cafe located in the beautiful Stonington, CT, overlooking Dodson Boatyard and the Stonington Harbor. Cliff who worked in the boatyard would stop off for a drink after work, and as fate would have it, he met Megan, and fell in love. The couple are great together, a perfect pair—kind, loving and lively!

The couple was married at a beautiful white Catholic church, straight out of a romantic movie. It was truly picture perfect and only steps away from Megan's childhood home; also where she got ready for the wedding. After the ceremony we took family portraits in the church courtyard, and snagged a photo of Megan with her second grade students who clearly adore their teacher! This moment between Megan and her students illustrates what a beautiful person Megan is inside and out—Cliff is one lucky guy!

After the ceremony we took the couple to a few special locations for their portraits. Usually we discourage going to too many locations for portraits, but things went super smooth and we fit everything in with zero stress—maybe that’s due to the lack of the California traffic or the laid back vibe of Mystic, Connecticut. We see why getting photos with these stunning backdrops was so important to Megan and Cliff. We agree the Mystic drawbridge is a sight to see!  

Their wedding was all about having a good time and dancing the night away. When the reception started the formalities and traditions moved fast so that the real party could get underway. As soon as everyone hit the dance floor it stayed full to the end!
