We met Melissa through an outdoor women’s fitness group called Happy Hour Fit Club in Seal Beach//Los Alamitos. Aside from helping us get fit, the group has been amazing for making connections with other women and finding a place in our community. It was such an honor when Melissa asked us to photograph her wedding. She and her fiance Kelly had been together happily for ten years, and are finally in the right place and time to make it official. All those workouts paid off, Melissa was a glowing bride, and Kelly had a grin ear to ear all evening.

Melissa and Kelly married at the Five Crowns in Corona Del Mar. The restaurant is a charming replica of England’s oldest country inns and a Corona Del Mar Landmark steakhouse. The couple said their I do’s in the beautiful garden,  which was then transformed into the reception space. Dining tables were set flanking the dance floor, some in the garden and others in the green house with floor to ceiling windows. The mood was romantic, classic, and relaxed. Guests enjoyed one another's company chatting and drinking upscale cocktails including the grooms favorite of the night, a smoked Old Fashioned.  

After dinner, both Melissa’s sister and her best friend gave touching and heart felt speeches that brought tears and laughter. When the dance floor opened everyone danced the night away!

One of the most special parts of Melissa and Kelly’s wedding was their choice of bridesmaids and groomsmen. After years of being there for her two daughters to lace up their shoes and dote on them, Melissa’s girls reversed their roles for the evening and were right by their mom’s side helping her get ready and supporting her. They were the best bridesmaids a mom could ask for.  Kelly’s son also stood beside him as his best man. Father and son both have a great sense of humor. They made us laugh goofing off in the iconic Five Crowns phone booth and just being silly together. We love the special bond between parents and their kids. We can tell this blended family will have lots of fun together.
