We are so happy Shelby and Rick found each other, it was easy to feel the excitement and love around them. They both took their time finding love, but we think they got it right! The pair were officially setup by a mutual friend in 2019, but had crossed paths several times before that—it’s amazing how our friends can see things we don’t.

Shelby and Rick were married at the Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach. Nestled on PCH and Huntington the hotel offers the perfect poolside wedding ceremony location, and beautiful views of the beach. We also love their Offshore 9 Rooftop Lounge, it’s the perfect spot to watch the sun set over the Huntington Beach Pier and get some beautiful sunset wedding portraits.

One of Shelby’s favorite parts of the resort is the palm tree wallpapered hallway. She loves the tropical vibe so much she actually made her bridesmaids’ robes using a similar pattern.  We had so much fun walking with the girls through the hotel to pose in front of the wall. The boys were all laughs and full of animation snapping photos in front of the surfer wall in the hotel lobby, and climbing an oversized Adirondack chair.

The wedding was elegant and simple. The bridesmaids wore black long dresses and the groomsmen wore black tuxedos with black bowties. There were touches of pink in the wedding from boutonnieres to the pink flower girl dresses. We loved the touches of personality; Rick work a checkered bow tie which matched his black and white checkered vans; and Shelby traded in her heals when the dancing started for her own pair of personally designed Vans (complete with palm leaves, and pink and black checkers).

Rick and Shelby had us smiling all night. We wish them a bright and happy future together!
