Susanne and Ben’s wedding was my first at the London Hotel in West Hollywood. The venue offers skyline views of all of Los Angeles, which made for an awesome backdrop at their reception. Some of my favorite shots came from just outside the hotel, when we braved our way across the street into the busy intersection. I’m sure the looky-loos were slowing traffic checking out the gorgeous couple!

When getting ready Susanne’s bridesmaids (which included one male) had a ton of fun popping champagne and getting the party started. I loved that their bridal party had a little flare; it goes to show that there are no rules when it comes to your wedding day. Its your day so you should surround yourself with your favorite people.

Susanne and Ben opted not to do first looks with each other, but at my suggestion Susanne did a first look with her father. When she finished getting ready we brought her dad into the bridal suite, and then she walked up behind him and tapped him on the shoulder. When he turned and saw his daughter in her dress for the first time he had tears in his eyes. It was such a touching moment, that made it clear as to what a tight knit family they are. Next, Susanne turned to both her mom and dad and read them a special thank you letter, which had all of us in the room holding back the waterworks.

The wedding was a blast, Susanne and Ben’s friends like to party and dance and the venue offered a cool urban feel.
